Following the news of Liam Payne’s death, Harry Styles’s mom has shared a tribute.
Liam was found dead on Wednesday this week after reportedly falling from the third story of a hotel in Argentina, per ABC News and the Associated Press. He was 31.
Liam shot to fame as part of former British boyband One Direction, who were together from 2010 until 2016, along with Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.
Now, Harry’s mom, Anne Twist, has shared a short yet moving response to the news of Liam’s death.
Taking to Instagram, Anne shared an image of a broken heart emoji and wrote, “Just a boy … 💔.”
Several One Direction fans have commented sweet, supportive words under Anne’s post.
Over the years, Liam was open about struggling with alcohol addiction and “moments of suicidal ideation.”
He told Men’s Health in 2019, “It’s difficult when you have the level of fame that we had in the band. There have been a lot of people in trouble with mental health that aren’t really getting the help that they need, and I think that’s a bit of a problem in our industry. It’s the same shit that happens to everyone, that’s been happening since the ’70s. You know what the traps are and if you are lucky enough, like me, to be able to get out of that scenario and back into a sense of normality, then you know it’s a bit different.”
Sending love to Liam’s family, friends, and fans.
